6/27/17: Elsmere Police News Release “Coffee For Cops”

FROM: Chief Giles

DATE: June 27, 2017

REF:  “Coffee For Cops”

Today (6/27/17) Natalie Vandzura and her mom, Carri stopped by the police station to give us $5 gift cards from WAWA and Dunkin Donuts.

After Cpl. Ballard’s death Natalie told her mom she wanted to do something for police officers to show how much she appreciates what they do for the communities they serve.

Therefore, Natalie started a lemonade stand to raise money to purchase $5 gift cards from WAWA and Dunkin Donuts.  Carri posted on Facebook how Natalie wanted to do raise funds to show her support for law enforcement.  The community rallied behind Natalie efforts and she was able to raise $1,555.00, which resulted in 311 gift cards!

Pictured below is Natalie and her mom stopping by the Elsmere Police Department this afternoon and dropping off gift cards to Chief Laura Giles, Lt. Gregg Shelton, Ptlm. Kevin MacDowell and Ptlm. Earl McCloskey.

On behalf of Elsmere Police Department, I wanted to share this act of kindness.  It affirms that we can all learn so much from a 7-year-old child who knows the true spirit of kindness and generosity.
