The Town of Elsmere Special Services Department is located at 220 New Rd which is beneath the Elsmere Bridge also know as the Rt. 2 Viaduct.  The department is located directly across from Waterbed Land.  The department is Supervised by  Mr. Robert Stewart.

 
      The Special Services Department maintains all Town property including the repair of street, street signs, parks maintenance, the maintenance of Town buildings and snow removal among many other things.

    Trash Collection: Residential trash collection is offered free of charge for Elsmere residents.  The normal collection day is Thursday of each week.  This changes on weeks where a holiday is observed.  Please go to the main page of this site and click on Trash Collection to view the collection dates for holidays. 

    Heavy Trash Pick-ups: You can arrange for the pick-up of refuse unsuitable for normal collection on a fee basis by calling Waste Management Inc. Heavy Trash pick-ups are scheduled by Waste Management and all fees must be paid in advance.

    Snow Removal: During snowfall you should avoid parking in the roadway.  We encourage you to utilize your driveways so that we can clear the roadways as swiftly as possible.

The Town code requires that Ice or Snow be cleared from sidewalks adjacent to your property within 24 hours after a snowfall. Pathways must be at least 3 feet wide in residential areas and 4 feet wide in commercial areas.
