Chapter 111

 GARBAGE COLLECTION

~ 111-1. Containers. [Amended 7-10-1969 by Ord. No. 100]

 

  It shall be unlawful for any person to place, or permit to remain, any garbage outside, about or upon any dwelling, building, structure or business, unless such garbage has been thoroughly drained of its moisture and wrapped in substantial paper. The garbage shall be placed and stored in metal, plastic or similar containers; such containers shall be covered with tightly fitting lids.

 

 

~ 111-2. Interference with garbage containers.

 

  No person other than an authorized employee or agent of the town shall disturb or remove garbage containers or garbage placed in containers for collection unless specifically requested by the owner of the container.

 

 

~ 111-3. Garbage deposited on streets and other places.

 

  No person shall deposit or cause to be deposited any garbage in or upon any street or public place, vacant lot, public or private alley.

 

 

~ 111-4. Violations and penalties.[1]

 

  Except in cases where it is otherwise provided by law or ordinance, any person violating any of the provisions of this chapter shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and, upon conviction thereof, shall be punished by a fine in the sum not exceeding two hundred fifty dollars ($250.) or imprisonment for a period not exceeding six (6) months, or by both such fine and imprisonment.
